In addition to selling at upcoming craft shows, I’m in the process of getting space in a local antique shop. I should have a space in January. For some background, I’ve shared space with my mother-in-law at the Antique Trove in Scottsdale for over a year. She’s been an antiques dealer here for more than 35 years and is well known throughout the Valley. In addition to her vintage clothing and silver/jewelry spaces there, we did a lot of “shabby chic” furniture together which sold quite well. We also did shows together and I absolutely loved chatting with all the wonderful people who attended.

I really enjoy the creative process of setting-up displays and changing them around to keep it fresh. I will ensure your goods — whether they be jewelry, handbags, tags, cards, etc. — are prominently displayed with your business name and location. This goes for shows and space that I rent. Check out the consignment agreement I have posted on this site. I am always open to changing the agreement to suit your needs…it’s important to me that you, the artist, feel in control of your product and that we build a strong, positive relationship together. I’m so excited! Things are really coming together…fast! I’ve contacted crafters from L.A. to N.Y.C. (and, of course, Phoenix!) — everyone is incredibly supportive and kind. I am consigning and wholesaling to stock-up for my first show in January. Details on where I’ll be will be posted as soon as the i’s are dotted and t’s crossed.

For the first go-around I’ve focused on crafters with etsy sites and handpicked those I love the most. However, I know there are lots of other artists whose work is not available online. If you are a new or undiscovered crafter or would just like another avenue of getting your work out into the world, just send me an email. I am going for a certain “look” that I can’t quite put my finger on yet, but you can view my favorites as a reference on etsy.com. Go on, don’t be shy!

saving the world, one wee kitty at a time

Okay, maybe not the world but certainly our neighborhood cats. This past summer we had no less than five kittens born under the bushes in our front yard by stray/feral cats. A fundraiser is in the works to pay for trapping and fixing as many of these cats as possible before spring. Michelle (a.k.a. the cat lady – she’s great!) has already saved up $500 of her own money (wow!) and contacted a well respected cat rescue group in Phoenix. The total cost will be about $1,000 so my young son, stepson, and I will start going door to door for donations pretty soon. One of the things I’m really excited about is offering a handmade Pointy Kitty to anyone who donates $50 or more. I found the free Pointy Kitty pattern on WeeWonderfuls website. After gaining the designer’s permission to use for our fundraiser, I’ve nearly completed my first one! So much fun to sew and I’m sure they’ll help us raise the money in no-time. I’ll post a pic here when they’re ready. ^..^

WELCOME to the pre-launch of my new business, Handmade Revolution!!! I’m very excited to be venturing out into the indie arts & crafts movement. I finally came to the realization that, while I’m a pretty crafty gal myself, many others out in the world are far better at it than me! That’s why I’ve chosen to begin promoting local and national indie crafters whose work is inherently creative, dynamic, and utterly unique. These artists have put a new spin on timeless methods of making things by hand. Crochet, sewing, knitting, cross-stitch, beading, painting, drawing — it’s all here and so inspiring! My intentions are simple: bring the world of indie arts & crafts to the average “big-box” shopper. Show them something they’ll never ever see in the big stores. Something crafted with the head, the heart and the hand. Support your indie artists and buy handmade this holiday and every day!
